Curtis & Casteel Law Group, LLC listens carefully to clients in order to create comprehensive estate plans that reflect each client’s individual and unique concerns and interests. Our team explains alternative options and tailors a personal estate plan to their needs and desires. This may entail preparing a testator’s will, creating an advance health care directive, assigning Durable Powers of Attorney for health care or financial management, creating a revocable living trust, and/or drafting a community property agreement.
Revocable Living Trusts
Curtis & Casteel Law Group, LLC works with clients to carefully create a trust that fulfills our client’s intentions and complies with the relevant laws governing trusts. Revocable living trusts allow for assets to pass directly to beneficiaries and avoid the expense and delay of the probate process and allow assets to be protected from third parties.
Community Property Agreement
Curtis & Casteel Law Group drafts community property agreements for clients who wish to simplify the transfer to the surviving spouse upon the passing of a spouse. A community property agreement is a contract signed by spouses that transfers all interest in separate and community property to the surviving spouse. This allows the property to transfer without the expense and delay of probate.
Curtis & Casteel Law Group, LLC counsels and advises Personal Representatives, administrators and trustees through the probate process. Our office will advise on the payment of final bills and outstanding debts and distributes assets in accordance with Washington probate law. Our firm also assists in transferring title of assets to beneficiaries, selling estate property, and resolving disputes between executors and beneficiaries.
